About The Department of Medicine The Department of Internal Medicine trains residents and offers tracks in Care Transformation and other programs. Dell Seton Medical Center is a 220-bed safety net hospital and serves as the inpatient training facility. Additional affiliated sites provide broad clinical exposure.
About The Rheumatology Clinical Educator Opportunity The Dell Medical School at The University of Texas at Austin seeks an exceptional Rheumatology-trained physician to join the Department of Medicine as a Clinician-Educator in collaboration with CommUnityCare, a Federally Qualified Health Center and main teaching site for our Internal Medicine residency program.
Well-documented speaking, teaching, and writing skills.
Ability to communicate clearly and professionally in person and on the phone.
Experience in precepting Internal Medicine Residents in an outpatient setting is preferred.
Effective professional management skills, including the ability to plan, organize and schedule work efficiently, focus on priorities, and meet deadlines.
Ability to interact with peers, executives, employees, and consultants in a manner that represents Dell Med positively.
Sound judgement in decision-making.
Ability to learn and apply new information promptly.
Flexibility and adaptability to change.
Ability to work on multiple tasks, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
Plan, promote, demonstrate, recommend and coordinate high standards of medical practice.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications Required:
MD or DO degree with board certification (or board eligibility within 2 years of residency) in Internal Medicine.
Unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Texas.
Strong clinical teaching skills.
Training and experience in quality improvement initiatives.
Eligible for appointments as an Assistant or Associate Professor.
Preferred:
A working knowledge of Spanish is preferred.
