Senior Fire Protection Engineer at IMEG. IMEG is a large design consulting firm with a local office approach and employee-owned culture. Responsibilities

Lead design efforts for the analysis of fire alarm, fire suppression, and smoke control systems; create detailed designs, specifications, and calculations according to code requirements and IMEG standards. Perform site assessments and generate detailed analysis and technical reports. Interact with clients to understand needs, gather project requirements, and communicate technical information; build and maintain client relationships. Provide in-process design reviews of fire alarm, fire suppression, and smoke control system designs, calculations, specifications, and project correspondence; implement IMEG quality control processes. Provide technical training and mentoring; assist in resolving field issues with limited senior staff support. Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices; contribute to research and innovation within IMEG. Prioritize safety in all engineering work; identify and mitigate safety risks in fire protection systems. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated solutions and meet project goals. Participate in project interviews and project presentations. Qualifications / Required Skills

Advanced proficiency in design techniques, tools, and concepts for producing technical plans and specifications. Advanced proficiency in thermodynamics, fire dynamics, heat transfer, and fluid mechanics as they relate to fire protection system design in fire alarm, fire suppression, and smoke control systems for buildings. Strong training, mentoring and leadership skills. Proficiency with industry-standard engineering software including fire dynamics simulation, hydraulic simulation, and intelligibility software. Ability to perform final quality control checks in their area of expertise. Ability to develop client relationships and sell work. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to communicate clearly in both oral and written formats. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Attention to detail and problem-solving skills; adaptability to new challenges. Proficient with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook). Ability to travel up to 20% with occasional overnight stays. Education And Experience

Bachelor of Science (BS) in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent (required). Professional Engineer (PE) License in Fire Protection Engineering (required). 7 years of experience minimum; 8+ preferred in the building design consulting industry. Physical Requirements

Regularly required to sit, walk, stand, talk, see, hear, and lift objects up to 25 pounds. Occasionally required to drive, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, reach with hands or arms, and grasp or pull. Limited exposure to outside weather conditions and loud noises. About IMEG
