Geosyntec has an exciting opportunity for a
Senior Electrical Engineer
to be based out of our offices in multiple U.S. locations. The position will support and grow our electrical engineering design and automation practice as part of our expanding process engineering and water and wastewater treatment practices for various industrial and municipal sectors. Projects will involve water and wastewater treatment design, pilot-scale testing, startup and commissioning, and construction/startup support. In order to comply with client-specific government contracts, U.S Citizenship is required for this position.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Collaborate and mentor within a sell-manage-do culture; work on challenging technical projects and contribute to business development and client management.
May be assigned project management responsibilities, staff management and development, and mentoring tasks.
Apply experience and technical knowledge for the development and review of technical approaches and detailed power design; support system automation and controls engineers where applicable.
Design and develop electrical systems in accordance with applicable specifications, codes, and standards (NFPA, NESC, IEEE, etc.).
Perform electrical design calculations (load flow, short-circuit studies, protective device coordination); use electrical engineering software such as ETAP, SKM, or comparable tools.
Read, interpret, and develop P&IDs; prepare and update technical documentation and drawings (single-line diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, lighting, grounding, equipment specifications, hazardous area classifications, utility service requests, construction specifications, etc.).
Conduct site surveys and inspections of electrical and control systems.
Scope, schedule, and budget electrical design for process engineering projects; estimate labor, materials, and construction costs for budgets.
Prepare for and participate in meetings with clients, regulatory personnel, and other stakeholders.
Recruit, manage, and mentor junior staff and designers.
Deliver multiple concurrent project assignments; support lead generation, business development, staff development, and mentoring as part of the company model.
Travel to client or project sites as needed and drive company vehicles when required.
Education and Licensure
Bachelor's degree from an ABET-accredited college or university in electrical engineering (required).
Professional registration (P.E.) (preferred).
Skills, Experience And Qualifications
At least 8 years (10+ years preferred) of progressive experience in electrical engineering with a focus on design, construction, and operation of process engineering projects.
Strong background with industrial equipment, electrical motors and VFDs, power distribution, building service and wiring, and process controls/automation.
Working knowledge of applicable codes (NFPA, IEEE) and Federal/State regulations.
Experience with Electrical Safety and Arc Flash Hazard analyses and documentation (preferred).
Excellent leadership and detail-orientation skills.
Direct water, wastewater, industrial, and/or environmental consulting experience.
Ability to work in a fast-paced consulting environment, manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and travel to client facilities as needed.
Current OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training and refreshers (preferred).
Health & Safety training and client-driven drug and background testing may be required.
Valid U.S. driver’s license and satisfactory driving record for business travel (required).
U.S. Citizenship is required to comply with client-specific government contracts.
