Position Engineer 1 - Engineering (PIPELINE)
— Erwin, Tennessee
Responsibilities
Evaluates situations, selects and applies standard engineering techniques, procedures and criteria, using judgment in making minor modifications.
Assignments have a clear objective and require planning and investigation of limited number of possibilities.
Work is reviewed for application of sound judgment and compliance with contract technical requirements and meeting of division policies and procedures.
Receives instructions on specific assignment objectives, complex features and possible solutions.
Assistance is furnished on unusual problems and work is reviewed for application of sound professional judgment.
Performs work which involves conventional types of plans, investigations, structures or equipment with relatively few complex features for which there are precedents.
Prepares written reports, drawings, sketches, and technical documents (Technical Basis, Change Requests, Equivalencies, Set Points, etc.).
Designs and conducts tests or experiments, evaluates and correlates data, organizes and plans work.
Applies understanding of manufacturing technology, technical process specifications, engineering policies and procedures, QC procedures, department goals, customer needs and contract requirements.
Develops ability to interpret technical specifications, conduct meetings, deal with customers, vendors, and other department representatives; prepares time and cost estimates.
Position Requirements
A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering. No experience required.
Ability to effectively communicate complex technical information in writing and verbally.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a multifunctional team.
Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE security clearance.
Must be a U.S. citizen with no dual citizenship.
Grade Level 6.2
Pay $62,000.00 - $97,000.00
The base salary range for this position in Tennessee (US-TN) at the start of employment is expected to be between $62,000.00 and $97,000.00 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors, and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. The total compensation package may also include additional elements such as an annual cash incentive and a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided when an offer of employment is made. If hired, the selected candidate will be employed at-will unless governed by a collective bargaining agreement. BWXT reserves the right to modify base salary and any other discretionary compensation or benefits at any time, including for performance and market factors.
