in Hunt Valley, MD. This hybrid role involves the design of highway and urban roadway projects and collaboration within a multi-disciplinary team to support major transportation projects for public and private clients in Maryland. Responsibilities
Support Highway/Roadway design projects that incorporate multimodal facilities, traffic calming treatments, urban street roadway designs and modifications, accessibility improvements, transit network upgrades, drainage assessments and designs, public and private utility coordination, and green infrastructure elements. Provide technical expertise on projects from initial conceptual and preliminary engineering through final design and construction. Coordinate with architects, bridge, environmental, geotechnical, survey, and traffic professionals to complete multi-disciplinary project deliverables. Prepare detailed civil design plans, specifications, cost estimates, and bid packages. Collaborate with Project Managers to ensure production of specifications, reports and analysis meet scope, schedule, cost, and quality requirements. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from ABET-accredited engineering program. 3-6 years of design experience in the highway transportation field. Engineer-in-Training certification is required. Professional Engineer license, or the ability to obtain a license within 6 months of employment is preferred. Excellent written and oral communication skills are required. Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, Inroads/OpenRoads, and AutoTURN. Experience with project delivery of State Agency Transportation Departments. About Kleinfelder & Benefits
