Lead Geotechnical Engineer
champion the geotechnical division. This role offers a unique opportunity to drive technical excellence and strategic growth across rural infrastructure projects—especially those focused on slope stability, embankment safety, and foundational integrity. You will evolve into the division’s key leader within 12 months, taking ownership of project execution, innovation, and team development in field-driven environments. This Role Offers: Own the geotechnical function within a growing regional team. Engage with varied terrain projects that have real impact on infrastructure resilience. Clear path to senior management and division expansion. Market-aligned compensation package with comprehensive benefits. Work alongside experienced engineers in a collaborative, growth-oriented environment. Focus: Lead geotechnical investigations—oversight of drilling, boring, sampling, and slope stability studies in rural and hillside settings. Design and analysis—develop recommendations for embankments, foundation systems, erosion control, and structural earthworks. Project leadership—manage projects from investigation through implementation, coordinating multi-disciplinary teams and field crews. Technical mentorship—grow junior staff by sharing best practices in soil mechanics, field methods, and problem-solving. Client interface and business growth—help shape proposals, foster client relationships, and position the firm as a trusted geotechnical partner. Skill Set: Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering, with a Master’s in Geotechnical Engineering preferred. Professional Engineer (PE) license, or ability to obtain quickly in Missouri. 5–15 years of geotechnical experience, including slope analysis, drilling campaigns, rural applications, and earth structure design. Proficiency with slope stability tools, soil/rock lab analysis, and software modeling (e.g., SLOPE/W, PLAXIS). Strong communication, report-writing, and stakeholder engagement skills.
