The anticipated salary range for this role is between $147,000.00 and $195,000.00, with the specific offer based on qualifications and experience. The role may be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive award. SMBC also offers a competitive benefits portfolio. The role operates within the Risk Management Department, Model Validation Group, supporting the Americas Division to improve model quality and governance. This position applies numerical, statistical and qualitative knowledge to perform model validation, monitor and report model risk, and support day-to-day risk management activities. The role may supervise junior staff and may involve interaction with the Group Dept. Head or CRO. There is a double cap responsibility to the Global Risk Management Group of Head Office. Responsibilities

Conduct model validation and model risk governance across SMBC businesses and group companies. Apply robust model validation methodology to assess conceptual soundness, quality of implementation, and ongoing monitoring. Develop and apply model quality assessment and approval criteria to ensure integrity of implementation, inputs, outputs, monitoring and reporting. Communicate findings to management and stakeholders, including recommendations. Summarize and present model validation results to the model risk management committee. Ensure business continuity under all conditions, adhering to established guidelines and deadlines. Qualifications And Skills

7 years of wholesale credit modelling or validation experience in Financial Services. Master’s Degree in Quantitative Math, Finance or Physics is a plus. Strong analytical skills, both quantitative and qualitative. Good problem solver; able to work across cross-functional efforts. Effective interpersonal skills with strong written communication. Ability to learn quickly in areas of limited prior experience. Employment Details
