Overview Supplier Quality & Development Engineer

role at ABB. This position reports to the Global Supply Quality Manager and contributes to the Electrification Installation Product division in North America. In this role, you will have the opportunity to lead the execution of supplier assessments, drive both corrective and preventive actions based on supplier maturity and performance levels. Each day, you will manage operational supplier quality, both on-site and off-site, ensuring the thorough execution of supplier qualification and development processes. You will also showcase your expertise by managing the supplier’s KPIs. The work model for the role is: Onsite.

Responsibilities

Driving approval process for supplier parts, materials, and project subcontractor services, as applicable, involving collaboration with other functions/experts, encompassing activities like Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) and product surveillance at supplier manufacturing sites.

Leading in promptly addressing supply issues related to quality, deliveries, non-compliant products, or project services.

Working together with buyers to engage suppliers and prepare claims cases when necessary.

Ensuring required supplier development processes are thoroughly executed to drive continuous improvement of the supplier base.

Job Qualifications

3+ years of relevant work experience in Supplier Quality or Manufacturing Quality

Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering is preferred

Experience with raw material goods such as steel, copper, or aluminum

Strong oral and written communication skills

Ability to travel domestically up to 50% of the time

Candidates must have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
