Duties, Responsibilities & Other This position will provide assistance to experienced inspectors on active roadway and bridge construction projects. Must prepare detailed and timely reports to document construction progress, inspection, and testing results. Prepare necessary records, measure field quantities, conduct field tests, and other tests required to determine contractors' compliance with contract specifications. Previous experience on NCDOT road and bridge construction projects is preferred. Active/current NCDOT QMS Asphalt Roadway, Concrete, and Conventional Density certifications are a significant plus. Must prepare detailed and timely reports to document construction progress, inspection, and testing results. Prepare necessary records, measure field quantities, conduct field tests, and other tests required to determine contractors' compliance with contract specifications. 4 years of inspection experience on NCDOT projects is preferred. Qualifications High School diploma; an Associate's degree in Civil Engineering Technology or applicable field is preferred. Minimum of 2-4 years of experience required or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Pre-employment drug screening is required. Background and motor vehicle checks may be conducted based on the position. Performance Expectations Accurately record and report daily forms as per project requirements. Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, staff, and supervisors. Proactively resolve problems at the lowest level. Adhere to project scope, schedule, and budget. Review all work for completeness and accuracy before submission. Submit accurate timesheets, mileage, and expense reports on time each week. Review job site safety daily and document/resolving issues immediately. Follow OSHA Safety Standards and KCI corporate policies at all times. Maintain all required certifications and participate in training courses as needed.
