ECHO is hiring

a Automation Technician II. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on automated manufacturing equipment. They work closely with the production team to ensure proper training, safe operation, and optimal performance of all automated systems. This role provides opportunities for advanced learning and professional growth in the field of automated manufacturing.

1st Shift 6:30am - 3:00pm $29+/HR depending on experience + yearly bonus!

Duties/Responsibilities

Train and mentor production staff on automated manufacturing equipment, including proper start-up, shut-down, re-start procedures, and key troubleshooting practices.

Maintain and monitor daily 5S practices across automation spare parts cabinets, workstations, equipment build areas, and machining areas.

Participate in ongoing training and development to expand knowledge of ECHO’s automated manufacturing systems.

Perform preventive maintenance and equipment repairs as assigned.

Complete and close out work orders in ECHO’s equipment maintenance software.

Communicate effectively with the Automation and Production teams via email and other channels.

Collaborate with Automation Department staff for cross-training and knowledge sharing.

Work in time-sensitive and high-pressure situations to ensure optimal O.E.E. (Overall Equipment Effectiveness).

Utilize prior experience to independently troubleshoot and resolve common equipment issues.

Operate common tool room equipment, including milling machines, lathes, band saws, and overhead cranes.

Ability to walk, stand, climb stairs, bend, twist, and work with hands for up to 8 hours per day.

Qualifications

Minimum of 2 years of experience in manufacturing or industrial automation.

Strong organizational and multitasking skills with the ability to meet project deadlines.

Self-motivated with a proactive approach to problem-solving.

General knowledge of Industrial PCs, HMIs, and PLC functionality, programming, and troubleshooting.

Ability to read, interpret, and analyze equipment drawings.

Experience with 3D modeling or CAM software (SolidWorks preferred) is a plus.

Familiarity with 6-axis robots (Fanuc, Mitsubishi, etc.) is a plus.

Knowledge of gantry-mounted robotics for injection molding (Sepro, Yushin, STAR) is a plus.

Fluent in English (writing and speaking) A+ bilingual in Spanish.
