General Manager (Plastics Manufacturing)

Job Summary We are seeking a creative and proven leader to develop and implement business strategies, support a top-performing safety culture, lead commercial excellence and continuous plant improvement activities, drive the development of new products and markets, and build effective teams across the region to achieve superior financial performance and growth.

Job Responsibilities
Instill a high-performance safety culture throughout the region.
Utilize creative and strategic agility to recognize and size up existing and emerging market and product opportunities.
Manage a business P&L to ensure profitability, efficiency, and operational excellence.
Collaborate with executive-level management to develop performance goals and long-term operational plans; set strategic goals for operational efficiency and increased productivity.
Oversee and coordinate expansion and growth activity, including plant selection and start-up of operations.
Strategize and develop long-term plans that usher in new levels of productivity and success.
Bridge financial information to operations and track and measure costs to budget and forecast.
Coordinate and direct operational and commercial activities to meet goals and objectives in line with established business growth goals.
Evaluate and report on operational and commercial activities in relation to established goals and objectives.
Provide executive-level analysis and process implementation for improvements.
Partner with Sales on customer visits, building relationships and understanding the voice of the customer.
Partner with plant managers to direct and manage plant operations.
Remove production constraints; allocate human and equipment resources and direct employees to attain all established goals.
Job Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering or related field (Preferred).
An MBA/eMBA from a highly regarded institution (Preferred).
7+ years of progressive management/executive experience in a manufacturing or related business.
Proven track record of leading both labor-intensive and/or large product operations and machine-based and automated manufacturing businesses to exceptionally high levels of safety, quality and customer service performance.
Sales or marketing management experience or a track record of growing market share, introducing new products, entering new markets.
Excellent analytical, financial and communication skills.
Intermediate to advanced MS Office skills; knowledgeable in ERP and production management software platforms.
