Engineering and Installation Technician (Part-time or Full-time)
located in Oceanside, CA.
This is an entry-level position with upward mobility to a journeyman role. Primary duties include Inside Plant Cable (ISP) Installation. The ISP Cable Installer must understand installation-specific information to plan and execute tasks such as installing CAT5, CAT5E, CAT6, and Fiber, installing data racks and network equipment, and terminating and certifying cables.
Salary: $55-60K
Physical Responsibilities
Lift, from floor to above head, 25 lbs repeatedly and frequently.
Sit, stand, climb, kneel, bend, lift, crawl, squat, reach, and use both hands and feet in aerial and underground capacities.
Work environment includes heat, cold, dust, wet conditions, vibration, and loud noise. Ability to sit for extended periods, stand, bend, walk, communicate via phone, computer, or face-to-face, and use basic office equipment.
Work is performed both in and out of an office environment.
Duties and Responsibilities
Assist in installing voice and data cabling, including copper and fiber optic terminations and installations following EIA/TIA standards and BICSI guidelines.
Document the network by labeling and routing equipment and cables.
Assist in troubleshooting and repairing equipment and cabling issues.
Perform field installation of OSP cable, gather data for engineering and design of fiber optic facilities.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
US Citizen.
Pass a Federal Background check.
Valid driver’s license.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.
Ability to perform repetitive tasks and make independent judgments.
Within 90 days, pass OSHA-10 Certification.
High school diploma or equivalent.
