Vti Security Integrators The BIM Specialist II will perform BIM modeling and coordination tasks daily, while concurrently assisting to develop the Revit standards, families, project templates, workflows, and procedures within Paladin Technologies. In addition to 3D BIM work, the BIM Specialist II is also expected to assist where needed with traditional 2D CAD work. The BIM Specialist II will work to support corporate objectives by maintaining the highest quality of service to the requestor, whether an internal Paladin Technologies employee or an external customer.
Responsibilities
Work in both 2D and 3D drafting programs, including AutoCAD, Revit, BIM360, and Navisworks; develop detailed models and drawings for Structured Cabling Systems, Outside Plant Infrastructure, Audio Visual Systems, Security Systems, DAS, and other low-voltage disciplines.
Assist the Director of Design and VDC Manager to develop and maintain BIM/AutoCAD standards, processes, libraries, and templates.
Make recommendations to leaders on the development of Paladin BIM/AutoCAD program, including software, training, and hardware needs.
Provide 3D renderings of Conference Rooms, Data Centers, and IDF/MDF rooms for customer proposals using assets from project teams.
Develop the BIM Specialist II's knowledge of BIM and the technologies Paladin Technologies installs.
Attend BIM coordination meetings and work with architects, developers, MEP consultants, and trade modelers using project guidelines.
Be a project partner and ambassador, providing clear communications and support in clash resolutions within project models.
Identify and understand each project's Design Intent, BIM Execution Plan, and/or Project Execution Plan.
Perform Electronic Takeoffs as required using Autodesk applications or Bluebeam Revu.
Develop and maintain AutoCAD, Revit, BIM360, ACC, Navisworks, Microsoft Office, and Bluebeam Revu skillsets.
Perform other design, drafting, modeling, or office tasks as directed by the Design Manager.
Ensure timely and complete submittals of each drawing set in accordance with the BIM Execution Plan and Design Schedule.
Understand due dates and coordinate with teammates to meet deadlines; manage multiple projects with attention to quality and accuracy.
Required Qualifications
A minimum of 3–5 years of drafting and design experience in information technology, instrumentation and controls, electronics, and/or security industries.
Post-secondary education from an accredited college, university, or technical institution in Electronics, Information Technology, or related field.
Ability to create aesthetically pleasing, legible, and accessible drawings.
Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam Revu, IP networks, low voltage electronics, power and communications, Windows, and Microsoft Office.
Strong understanding of the physical security and/or technology industries and IP networks, low voltage electronics, power, and communications concepts.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Analytical and problem-solving skills; motivated self-starter with willingness to research new technologies and methodologies.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Access Control, CCTV (IP and Analog), Intrusion Systems, client-server security applications, MS SQL databases, servers and storage, or Microsoft Visio.
Field experience in a construction environment.
Physical Demands Must be able to communicate clearly (see, hear, speak, write) and perform manual dexterity tasks for reaching, lifting small objects, and operating office equipment.
Working Conditions The office is clean, properly lit and ventilated; noise levels are low to moderate. Some travel may be required.
Pay Rate $28 - $33.50/hour
