Directional Drill Operator/Locator Foreman , you are responsible for operating horizontal/directional drill rigs, locating equipment, and product support equipment. Your duties will include: Operating Horizontal Directional Drill for installation of underground telecommunications cable conduit, including fiber optic cable. Ensuring the safety of the public and other utilities underground facilities. Performing all duties according to prescribed safety procedures and using appropriate safety equipment. Setting up and cleaning up work sites, including traffic and pedestrian control. Reading utility locates and coordinating day lighting of these facilities. Ensuring all applicable permits and locates are complete and on-site. Inspecting the work that is in progress to ensure that the workmanship conforms to specifications. Operating construction equipment to facilitate alignment, movement, and adjustment of machinery to conform to grade specifications. Leveling earth to final grade specifications. Operating vehicles and equipment operations from trucks to other equipment as directed and certified. Performing proper maintenance by greasing, oiling, and making minor repairs on equipment. Leading teams in the field effectively as needed and directed by supervisor. Qualifications : About You: Safety is a part of your day to day. You have a track record of completing work with a high level of quality. You have a knack for figuring out hard problems and enjoy a hands-on approach to your work. You are looking for long term projects. You enjoy getting your hands dirty with your team. You have 3 years of Horizontal Directional Drill experience. You have a Valid driver’s license. You must obtain a CDL class a driver’s license within 30 days of employment. Experienced with different size Vermeer or Ditch Witch units and various brands of locating equipment. Working experience in underground construction and Fiber builds. City, County, and State clearance code knowledge and related. You can read and understand maps, drawings, and diagrams for the project build process. You are willing to work outdoors in all types of weather and work overtime as required.
