Operations Engineer I

Salary: $119,800 - $258,000
Operations Engineer I plays a critical role in 24/7/365 operations and supports Media Technology and Operations customers. First‑line support engineers handle IT issues and scheduled and live broadcast events to meet service level performance standards.
Responsibilities
Perform first‑call triage, resolution, dispatch, and escalation on incidents ranging from low priority to on‑air emergencies.
Monitor services and equipment for a wide variety of systems and coordinate communications around major incidents with organization‑wide impact.
Use remote control software, knowledge base repository, and on‑site support to resolve incidents and log all requests in the IT Service Management tool.
Adjust audio and video levels, synchronize lines, and maintain production standards for live video feeds in the Quality Control (QC) role.
Monitor outgoing path quality, initiate large‑scale notifications, and document findings for signal problems.
Qualifications
Minimum two‑year technical degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Broadcast Engineering (or equivalent education/experience).
Hands‑on experience troubleshooting computer repair, electronic repair, and software/hardware repair.
Comfortable with Windows 10, macOS, and CentOS (Linux experience is a plus).
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including technical and business writing.
Customer service experience and strong attention to detail during repetitive tasks.
Ability to resolve complex technical problems in a timely manner and work independently or in a team environment.
Self‑motivation with a passion for technology and learning.
Flexibility to work a shift environment with periodic shift rotation, days, nights, overnights, evenings, weekends, or holidays.
Preferred Experience
Broadcast engineering, live video production, networking, and troubleshooting skills.
IT networking and system administration experience.
Database administration experience with MySQL, Oracle, MSSQL, or MongoDB.
Helpdesk or service desk experience (highly desirable).
