The Hampton-Newport News Community Services Board is seeking a licensed and experienced behavioral health professional to lead our Youth and Family Services division. This is a high-impact leadership role for a clinician with a passion for service, strategic thinking, and operational excellence.
As Director of Youth and Family Services, you will oversee programs supporting children and adolescents in Hampton and Newport News. These include outpatient psychiatric, therapy, and substance use services; case management; therapeutic mentoring; children’s crisis response; juvenile justice initiatives; and prevention services.
We seek an experienced leader capable of managing multiple programs while balancing clinical and administrative demands. Responsibilities include program operations, personnel management, budget oversight, and regulatory compliance. You will also be a key member of the agency's Executive Leadership Team, contributing to strategy and innovation.
This role requires strong leadership, excellent communication, and the ability to guide teams through change. Candidates should be comfortable working in a fast-paced, data-driven environment and fostering partnerships with internal teams and community stakeholders. A strategic mindset and commitment to quality improvement are essential, as is adaptability to meet evolving youth behavioral health needs.
Candidates must hold an active Virginia license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Clinical Psychologist (LCP). Extensive behavioral health and clinical program management experience is required, along with a proven record of leading multidisciplinary teams and navigating complex systems of care.
