Thales Defense & Security, Inc. (TDSI) in Clarksburg, MD invites applications for a Senior Business Development Manager who will design, lead and implement the strategic business capture plan for U.S. Air Force initiatives within the U.S. Air Force and U.S. Space Force.

Responsibilities
Own the development of U.S. Air Force market strategy.
Have insight into U.S. Space Force market penetration.
Lead and manage performance of assigned U.S. Air Force customer accounts (MAJCOMs, PEO C3BM, USAF Acquisition Centers, USAF expeditionary communications user community).
Pro‑actively interface with customers and partners to identify, qualify and capture new business opportunities.
Identify, evaluate and pursue partnerships, alliances and joint ventures that will lead to new business.
Lead market analysis, monitor competitive intelligence and identify customer needs within business areas.
Generate capture plans for strategically or financially significant opportunities.
Direct updates to and review opportunity forecast for business areas on a regular basis.
Lead or contribute to internal pursuit reviews and external proposals (competitive assessments, customer hot buttons, win themes, price‑to‑win strategies).
Market analysis, development of marketing communications strategy.
Tradeshows/customer visit coordination and execution.
Interface with DOD program offices and/or Military Operations leadership to understand, shape and influence future requirements.
Lead cross‑functional teams in pursuit of new business opportunities.
Effect market penetration and growth with minimal supervision.
Domestic and international travel to support USAF opportunities.

Qualifications
U.S. citizenship required; applicants may be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business or equivalent field required.
8‑12+ years Business Development and/or equivalent work experience within specified DoD market.
Deep understanding of U.S. Air Force acquisitions and requirements development.
Experience and knowledge in communications systems and their integration into C4ISR networks.
Excellent organizational skills and work ethic.
Effective oral and written communication skills and ability to manage multiple projects.
Ability to work in a team environment and interact with employees in all departments and functions.
Computer proficiency with Microsoft products and sales tracking systems required.
Must be able to travel up to 50% of the time.
Preferred: 8+ years’ military tactical operational experience.
Preferred: Uniformed experience within USAF community highly preferred.
Preferred: Additional experience within USAF and Intelligence programs desired.
Preferred: Familiarity with tactical communications, expeditionary communications, radio waveform technology/market trends.
Pay Range Annualized pay range:
$143,235–183,022 USD
plus target incentive compensation plan (ICP) of
15% .
