Train, direct the work of, resolve issues, and coach the front desk team to ensure a quality operation. Resolve customer issues, complaints, and problems in a quick, efficient manner to maintain high customer satisfaction and service quality. Complete established check-in procedures for arriving guests and facilitate guest departure to close the guest account and prepare the room for the next guest. Calculate and post monies, receipts, guest accounts, and other forms of credit with accurate cash handling methods to present timely and precise hotel charges at check-out and maintain accurate records. Answer inquiries from potential guests, accept reservations, and use suggestive selling techniques to increase occupancy and revenue. Maintain good customer relations by staying informed about in-house and local events to answer questions with timely and knowledgeable responses in person and on the phone. Operate PBX equipment, assist with outgoing calls, wake-up calls, and guest paging. Manage cash transactions at the front desk and uphold personal bank responsibilities per hotel policy. Maintain a friendly, cheerful, and courteous demeanor at all times. Drive hotel guests to and from the airport and other assigned trips, following traffic rules to ensure safety; maintain the hotel van. Perform other duties as assigned by management. Education/Formal Training High school education or equivalent experience. Experience 1 or more years of full-time employment experience in a related position with this company or other organizations. Knowledge/Skills Understanding of all hotel front office procedures. High school graduate mathematical aptitude and knowledge of cash handling procedures and computerized point-of-sale systems. Experience dealing directly with the public and general customer service skills. Knowledge of company/hotel policies/procedures and the ability to determine action based on guidelines. Supervision/management skills. Ability to communicate information and hotel services to management and guests; second language may be required. Proficiency with computer, calculator, and telephone keyboards for cash handling and paperwork processing. Physical Demands Frequent communication in person and by telephone. Ability to read and analyze written materials and monitor computer screens. Excellent spoken communication for guest interactions; frequent phone use. Ability to analyze report data, prepare reports, and initiate correspondence. Continuous standing; lifting up to 50 lbs, pushing/pulling up to 50 lbs with assistance; carrying up to 25 lbs; limited climbing. Environment Prolonged standing in a climate-controlled indoor setting. USD $22.00 - USD $23.00 /Hr.
