Overview
Wealth Strategist Sr. - Wealth Services at Synovus serves as a subject matter expert in the areas of financial planning and wealth transfer strategies for high/ultra net worth individuals within Wealth Services at Synovus. Provides consultative and analytical support to Private Wealth Advisors / Personal Trust Relationship Managers / Financial Advisors and clients of Synovus Wealth Services. Responsibilities
Works closely with and provides advisory/consulting services to PWAs, Trust relationship managers, Financial Advisors, clients and client advisors such as accountants, attorneys, insurance advisors, and investment managers, across the entire spectrum of legal and tax aspects of sophisticated wealth planning and transfers techniques. Provides financial planning to high/ultra high net worth individuals, specifically around estate and tax planning. Develops financial projections associated with recommended wealth transfer strategies including detailed analyses and illustrations of consequences to recommended wealth transfer strategies with extensive consideration and impact of access to trust funds, impact of inheritance and other elements. Utilizes E-Money platform to showcase client tools. Plans implements and executes wealth transfer strategies via complex wills, trusts, partnership and LLC operating agreements, shareholder agreements, buy-sell agreements, pre-nuptial and post-nuptial agreements in conjunction with Personal Trust as required. Represents Synovus Wealth Services in professional association settings such as Estate Planning Councils. Maintains visibility of Synovus Wealth Services in the professional advisors community. Prepares and delivers presentations at client events and/or professional groups as part of continuing education programs. Interacts with Synovus Compliance, General Counsel and outside counsel in representing Synovus Wealth Services in its duties as a wealth advisory service and corporate fiduciary as required. Each team member is expected to be aware of risk within their functional area. This includes observing all policies, procedures, laws, regulations and risk limits specific to their role. Additionally, they should raise and report known or suspected violations to the appropriate Company authority in a timely fashion. Performs other related duties as required. Juris Doctor (JD), Certified Financial Planner (CFP) and/or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation. Minimum Experience
Six years of financial planning, law, or accounting practice experience representing high/ultra high net worth individuals. Certifications
Active Member in good standing of state bar (applicable to attorneys only). Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
In-depth Knowledge of financial planning, demonstrating proficiency in presenting complex financial plans/strategies to clients In-depth Knowledge of both state and federal income tax and wealth transfer tax regimes In-depth knowledge of state law regarding both wills and trusts and the administration of estates and trusts In-depth knowledge of estate tax, fiduciary services, estate planning, and understanding of financial markets and investment theory Strong process and project management capabilities Strong communication and presentation skills Proficiency and willingness to use E-Money platform for cash flow analysis, client engagement, etc. Proficiency using word processing and spreadsheet software programs Preferred Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
