POSITION SUMMARY Directs quality assurance factory floor and/or Laboratory personnel while maintaining a close rapport with production and the Quality team to identify, solve and prevent problems affecting quality. A key position within the Quality Team providing expertise and support to the Operations department and factory Management staff, fostering a cross‑departmental quality and compliance mind‑set.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES OPERATIONAL TASKS

Represent the assigned Business Unit in daily, weekly, monthly operational reviews and own the quality reporting for the BU within the facility.

Coordinate with production the monitoring of processes and procedures to ensure effectiveness and continuous improvement.

Use Defect Root Cause Analysis for the investigation of consumer and customer complaints and quality‑related losses. Develop corrective actions and monitor for effectiveness. Troubleshoot using product tests and product specification measurements.

Ensure an active internal quality audit program in compliance with FSSC 22000 and the Nestle Quality Management System.

Update HACCP, NQMS and SOPs as needed and train associates at all levels on quality programs.

Manage relationships with internal and external customers, suppliers, colleagues, and support services to ensure achievement of targets.

SYSTEMS TASKS

Manage quality assurance production floor support team by scheduling and assigning work, providing training and managing budgets.

Ensure compliance for FSSC 22000 while driving continuous improvement for Quality metrics and KPIs in the factory.

Actively participate in the change control process. Maintain and update rework and all‑ergen matrices for the factory.

Maintain Quality Pyramid. Summarize information and report for operational reviews.

Communicate quality and food safety briefs to the factory.

Summarize data and prepare and interpret reports for use by management.

Act as a communication liaison between management and quality staff to support corporate and plant‑driven initiatives.

LABORATORY TASKS

Support factory traceability exercises.

Manage factory laboratories for chemistry, incoming goods, microbiology and / or sensory by scheduling and assigning work, providing training and managing budgets.

Ensure daily routine sample analyses using lab techniques and other instrumentation following Good Laboratory Practices and Internal Control Plans (ICP).

Oversee lab operational activities – daily equipment maintenance, ordering, stock control, record entry, reporting, document control, etc.

Ensure lab compliance for FSSC 22000 and NQMS while driving continuous improvement for Quality metrics and KPIs in the lab.

Ensure the completion of internal lab audits in compliance with the NQAC program.

Update NQMS, ICPs and SOPs as needed and train laboratory associates. Assist, advise and train factory employees in attaining NQAC requirements (MI, LI, P‑test, etc.).

Ensure that a high quality of products, services, housekeeping, and hygiene standards are maintained and improved in designated and specific lab areas.

Summarize data, prepare and interpret reports for use by management.

Act as a communication liaison between management and laboratory staff to support corporate and plant‑driven initiatives.

Be the key factory contact person with NQAC.

SAFETY & ENVIRONMENTAL

Ensure compliance with all regulatory and Nestle guidelines pertaining to safety, health, and environmental.

Be a key part of the culture change toward behavioral safety improvement.

NESTLE CONTINUOUS EXCELLENCE

Support key Nestle Continuous Excellence (NCE) initiatives.

REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM EDUCATION LEVEL

B.S. Degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, or other related field, required.

3-5 years manufacturing and/or laboratory experience, food industry preferred.

1 to 3 years of supervisory experience in QA/QC, preferred.

SKILLS

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, proven planning and organizing skills, leadership, teamwork, and influencing or collaboration skills.

Strong mathematical and statistical skills required.

Ability to manage multiple assignments.

Ability to perform in a demanding, fast‑paced environment.

Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills.

Proficient with computer systems, personal computers, and spreadsheet software (Microsoft Office, etc.) and mainframe system with custom applications.

Proficiency in SAP/GLOBE systems is preferred.
