Job Summary Under the general direction of the Manager Facilities Project Planning, manages the physical facilities planning functions, including master campus planning, space planning, project programming for building renovations and new facilities, space utilization and move management, for all hospital campuses in Worcester. As a member of the Office of Capital Planning, plans, manages, and supports all activities for projects from program development, planning and design, budget guidelines and compliance with all regulatory standards and codes. Major Responsibilities
Coordinates architectural, engineering, technical and administrative support to develop construction plans, design criteria and quality controls for each project. Monitors the completion of project punch lists. Participates in the short- and long-range planning processes of the various groups and campuses by developing project sequencing and phasing for the strategic master facilities plan implementation. Manages the Moves, Add and Change Program (MAC); coordinates with IS on all Employee Move Requests (EMR). Collaborates with Senior Administration to define future population and space needs and configurations to support both current and future tenants. Integrates space requirements of tenant groups into the master facilities plan. Recommends ways to improve project efficiency and realize cost-effective completion. Develops and maintains project scope, schedule and files, code compliance, project documentation, budgets and disbursements. Ensures that each project is completed within established budgets and schedules, while meeting user needs, institutional and divisional objectives, and design guidelines. Ensures the successful relocation of groups with minimal business interruption, inconvenience, or lost time. Ensures projects are in compliance with regulatory agencies such as Joint Commission and Department of Public Health (DPH). Ensures that department complies with hospital established policies, quality assurance programs, safety, and infection control policies and procedures as it relates to project activities. License/Certification/Education Position Qualifications: Required Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Interiors or related field. Preferred Master’s degree and/or professional license in Architecture, Engineering, Real Estate or related field. Experience/Skills Required: At least 5 years of experience planning multi-million-dollar projects. 3 years of project management experience. Must be able to analyze problems and solve them creatively. Should have moderate to comprehensive business, technical, or functional knowledge. Must possess strong relationship building skills, communication skills and negotiation skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities, objectives, and deadlines. Thorough knowledge of applicable building, safety, fire and health codes and regulations. Must be proficient in AutoCAD or complete a certificate program within 6 months of hire.
