Job Overview RWJ Barnabas Health is looking to add a qualified part-time CT Technologist in Somerville, NJ. The CAT Scan Technician will perform duties directly involved with a variety of CAT Scan procedures. Prioritizes the patient as number one, and to put forth the utmost quality as a CT Technologist.
Pay Transparency The above reflects the anticipated hourly wage range for this position if hired to work in New Jersey.
The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.
Qualifications
Experience: Three years hospital experience as a staff technologist preferred, with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Certifications and Licenses Required
Must have State of New Jersey License and ARRT
CT certification obtained within 12-24 months of hire.
CPR certified or willing to obtain within six months of hire.
Scheduling Requirements
Night shift, 16 hours/week
Part-Time Schedule
Essential Functions
Positions patient to obtain study as prescribed by standard operating procedures.
Able to position all anatomical parts as indicated by the Standard Operating Procedures.
Performs the preparation in order to insure the prompt commencement of the procedure.
Ensures all necessary equipment is at hand prior to starting the ordered examination.
Under the direction of a Radiologist, instructs and administers cleansing preps and contrast agents.
Protects patients and other personnel by administrating proper radiation protection techniques.
Protects the reproductive organs with appropriate apparel, if visualization of these areas is not required.
Transfers and properly position patients for examinations in order to obtain desired radiographic results according to physician specifications
Assists physicians in performance of examinations.
As outlined in radiology policy and procedure and under the direction of the medical chairman the technologist will have proven competency in the administration of IV contrast media, to include venipuncture.
Practices sterile techniques and prevents cross contamination. Secures and returns supplies. Maintains room and room's stock.
Responsible for necessary equipment maintenance recommendations and trouble shooting when indicated. Keeps all necessary equipment maintenance logs which pertain to preventative maintenance of Emergency service.
Makes sure all necessary supplies are in room and restocks room accordingly.
Responsible for patient scheduling and smooth flow of schedule and patient preparation including contrast administration.
Responsible for quality control of Cat scan examinations.
