Summary: This position independently operates ultrasound equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic echocardiography, ensuring optimal patient care.
Responsibilities:
Perform inpatient and outpatient diagnostic cardiac sonograms in accordance with the American Society of Echocardiography (ASE) guidelines for digital image acquisition.
Perform advanced echo imaging, including guidance for interventional procedures such as ECMO, LVAD, ASD devices, Balloon Septostomy, and PCE taps.
Assist with intraoperative TEE.
Perform, archive, and analyze pediatric cardiac ultrasound images, optimizing machine settings, probe selection, and patient positioning.
Utilize critical thinking and a segmental approach to produce diagnostic, high-quality studies for normal and complex congenital heart defects.
Participate in the call schedule, including satellite areas.
Engage in biweekly educational echo conferences and clinical research.
Serve as a preceptor for students and fellows.
Participate in quality improvement activities.
Work Experience:
At least 1 year of relevant experience required.
2 or more years preferred.
Research experience preferred.
Education:
Two-year Associate's degree or equivalent in Echocardiography required.
Four-year Bachelor's degree or equivalent preferred.
Licenses and Certifications:
Certified in Pediatric Echo by ARDMS or CCI (ARDMS preferred) required.
Certification in Fetal, Adult, or Vascular echo preferred.
Basic Life Support certification required.
