The Department of Colon & Rectal Surgery at Ochsner Health is seeking a full-time board-certified/board-eligible colon and rectal surgeon to join its faculty in New Orleans, LA. The successful candidate will be a motivated, fellowship-trained colorectal surgeon with experience in complex open surgery, laparoscopy, and robotic surgery. The department houses one of the longest-established colon & rectal surgery training programs in the country, training 2 clinical fellows and 1 research fellow each year. Members of the department participate in the education of general surgery residents at Ochsner Health as well as medical students from the University of Queensland/Ochsner Clinical School. The department also has an active division of research and a partnership is planned with Xavier University in New Orleans to establish the Xavier-Ochsner College of Medicine. Responsibilities include providing high-quality clinical care, contributing to education and training of residents and fellows, participating in the department\'s education and research activities, and collaborating with cross-disciplinary teams. The department will provide opportunities and mentorship to develop the candidate\'s academic and professional potential. Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess exceptional surgical skills and clinical judgment, and a willingness to build a robust colon and rectal surgical practice. Effective communication skills and a record of team building are essential. Board certification or eligibility in colon and rectal surgery is required.
