This job provides direct care (including IV therapy) to assigned patients within the Licensed Practical Nurse Practice Act under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse; directs and assists ancillary nursing staff with assigned duties; interacts with the multidisciplinary team and other personnel; exhibits professional responsibility; assumes responsibility for own practice; assists in procedures competently and professionally; has skills to understand the basic principles of anatomy and physiology associated with GI procedures; and ensures appropriate handling and maintenance of equipment and supplies. Required - Graduate of approved LPN training school Work Experience
Required - 2 years of experience and demonstrated proficiency with advanced therapeutic endoscopy procedures with working knowledge of radiation safety and image storage guidelines Certifications
Required - Current LPN License in the state of practice Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification Knowledge Skills And Abilities (KSAs)
Excellent organizational skills Good time management skills and self directed Demonstrates good judgement Good interpersonal skills Delegation skills Job Duties
Exhibits effective use of the Nursing Process in the delivery of patient care and while assisting physicians during procedures. Provides care based on physical, psycho/social, educational, safety and related criteria, appropriate to the ages of patients served in assigned areas. Exhibits effective communication skills. Adapts to change in a positive constructive manner. Maintains responsibility for professional development and maintaining required clinical knowledge, technical skills, maintenance of equipment, training and credentials. Ensures cleanliness and disinfection of endoscopes and other pertinent equipment while maintaining quality control measures.
