McNair Emergency Department RN – CHI
Position Summary:
Responsible for the delivery of excellence in patient care through assessing, formulating nursing diagnoses, establishing goals, planning and implementing interventions, and evaluating outcomes. Maintains quality, cost effectiveness, and guest relations. Provides patient care in compliance with hospital policies and procedures and the standards of professional nursing practice as defined by the Texas Board of Nurse Examiners.
Responsibilities:
Utilizes the nursing process to ensure appropriate patient care is provided in a cost effective, quality driven, and patient focused manner.
Collects pertinent social, psychological, developmental and spiritual data from the patient, significant others and other health care team members.
Performs ongoing assessment, formulates nursing diagnosis and goals, plans appropriate interventions, and evaluates the outcome of the interventions.
Consistently documents in the patient and unit records according to written health system standards of care.
Provides teaching to patients and families on pain management, nutrition, skin integrity, fall prevention, diabetes, disease process, smoking cessation, and discharge instructions.
Demonstrates commitment to the goals and values through cost containment, confidentiality, ethical decision making, and patient safety.
Uses research‑substantiated interventions and participates in research activities to improve quality care.
Participates in quality of care activities, evaluates effectiveness, collects data, analyzes data, and formulates action plans to improve quality care.
Requirements:
Associate’s Degree or Diploma in Nursing.
Licensed Registered Nurse in Texas.
BLS with skills demonstration.
Effective communication and critical thinking skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills written and verbal.
Basic computer skills – familiarity with Windows software.
