Overview
This position is accountable for the coordination of the assigned subspecialty(ies), for oversight of the technical aspects of the department section(s), quality control oversight and management and provides accurate and timely test results in a cost‑effective manner. This position reviews, evaluates, coordinates and assists in the development and implementation of the department goals and objectives as they apply to the current CAP, TJC, DHS, CLIA, FDA, OSHA and other regulatory agencies. This individual also performs the duties of a Clinical Laboratory Scientist. This responsibility is to be carried out in the manner consistent with the Mission and Philosophy of the Sisters of Mercy. Responsibilities
Coordinate assigned subspecialty(ies) and oversee technical aspects of department sections. Ensure quality control oversight and management and provide accurate, timely test results in a cost‑effective manner. Review, evaluate, coordinate and assist in developing and implementing department goals and objectives in line with regulatory agency requirements. Perform duties of a Clinical Laboratory Scientist in accordance with laboratory standards and organizational mission. Qualifications
Bachelors Degree with major in a biological science, or US military equivalent Five years experience as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist 1 year internship in a hospital clinical laboratory Clinical Laboratory Scientist: CA (CLS:CA) Where You''ll Work
