Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center is hiring for a Supervisor, Nursing and Patient Care Services - Acute Care for the Emergency Department. Location: Woodbridge, VA. Work Shift: Third (Nights). 40 hours/week, Full Time. Responsibilities

Share 24/7 responsibility to assist the manager for the daily operations of one or more clinical areas in acute care. Supervise patient care services staff to ensure patient safety, high quality outcomes, and an exceptional patient/family experience. Assist the manager in development and monitoring of the departmental budget; coordinate purchasing and payroll processes. Serve as a technical/clinical resource to team members and perform work assignments as needed to provide appropriate coverage and mentor/assist staff. Assist the manager with interviewing, hiring, developing, and retaining staff to build a highly reliable work team. Coordinate and/or assist with staff education, orientation, and precepting of team members. Utilize effective communication and interpersonal skills and adapt leadership style to support department goals and objectives. Qualifications

Education BLD - Bachelor’s Level Degree - Nursing Certification/Licensure Registered Nurse (RN) License - Compact/Multi-State License OR Registered Nurse (RN) License - Single State - Virginia Basic Life Support (BLS) - Certification - American Heart Association (AHA) Experience 2 years nursing experience (required) 1 year nursing leadership experience (required) Previous Emergency Department experience (preferred) About the Emergency Department
