Overview
Location: 8800 N. Tryon St., Charlotte, NC 28262 Facility: 130 licensed beds; Stroke Center Unit information: See ~1500 patients per year; 29 beds; 1 OR suite Radius rule: Traveler’s permanent address must be 50 miles outside of home unit Responsibilities
Provide LDRP patient care; monitor and assist with labor/delivery and postpartum; assist with GYN surgical cases such as hysterectomy; newborn care including heel sticks, NAS scoring, lactation support Circulate for LDRP procedures; support across LDRP patient care Support within the Department: OB Tech – 1 per shift; CAN/ST – 1–3 per shift; Receptionist/HUC – patient registration, visitor management, and unit secretary duties; Charge nurse; Case Manager; RT 24/7; Hospitalist or OB Physician, 24/7; OB Physicians – 2 OB practices; Pediatrician; Lactation Consultants RN: Acuity-based patient ratios; CNA: 1–3 per shift, 1 is usually a ST Skills: Must have the skillset to work LDRP; experience with all aspects of LDRP patient care, circulating c-sections, and newborn care (heel sticks, NAS scoring, lactation support) Technology/Equipment: EMR EPIC; IV Pumps Alaris; Omnicell; Monitors Phillips; GE Corometrics Fetal Monitors; GE Panda Warmer Floating: Will float per region needs – will require floating to all facilities listed below, within scope of practice – DECLINE if not agreeable Region & Float
Region 1 includes Cabarrus, University City, Stanly, Lake Norman, Central Division (CMC Main + Mercy + LCH, peds only); float to facilities within region as needed If floating mid-shift, traveler will be paid for time traveling between facilities (still on the clock) Scheduling
Shift times: 7a–7p; 7p–7a Schedule cycle: every 6 weeks RTO: Up to 6 days off (excluding holidays) – time added to end of contract if unable to meet contracted hours Other Notes
Scrub color: Navy blue scrubs or business casual to/from work; hospital-issued scrubs while at work Parking: Free Qualifications
RN license required; BLS, ACLS, EFM, NRP – Required Minimum 2 years of LDRP experience First-time traveler: No NCC-EFM or RNC-OB preferred Seniority & Employment
