Labor & Delivery/Nurse position with focus on LDRP (Labor, Delivery, and Postpartum) care. See facility details and unit information below. Responsibilities / Duties
RN: Provide care for LDRP patients, including obstetric, labor and delivery, postpartum care, and newborn care as described in the unit information and patient diagnoses. Circulate c-sections, newborn care including heel sticks, NAS scoring, lactation support, and EPIC documentation. Support the OB/Delivery team with 24/7 coverage as outlined, including float to listed facilities as needed within scope of practice. Coordinate with OB Tech, CAN/ST, Receptionist/HUC, Charge nurse, Case Manager, RT, Hospitalist/OB Physician, Pediatrician, and Lactation Consultants. Facility & Unit Information
Address: 8800 N. Tryon St., Charlotte, NC 28262 130 Licensed Beds; Stroke Center Radius rule: Traveler’s permanent address must be 50 miles outside of home unit See ~1500 patients per year; 29 beds; 1 OR suite Unit: Labor & Delivery / Postpartum (LDRP) Patient Types / Diagnoses
LDRP – high-risk diagnoses such as PPH, diabetics on insulin, PROM, placenta previa, etc. GYN surgical cases commonly seen: hysterectomy Newborn care including lactation support Staffing & Ratios
RN: Acuity-based patient care CNA: 1-3 per shift (1 usually a ST) Experience & Certifications
Minimum 2 years of LDRP experience First-time traveler: Not accepted Required Licenses / Certifications: RN, BLS, ACLS, EFM, NRP – Required Skills
Must have the skillset to work LDRP, experience with all aspects of LDRP patient care, circulating C-sections, newborn care including NAS scoring, 24 hr testing, lactation support. Team & Support
OB Tech – 1 per shift CAN/ST – 1-3 per shift Receptionist/HUC – patient registration, visitor management, unit secretary duties Charge nurse, Case Manager, RT (24/7), Hospitalist/OB Physician (24/7), OB Physicians – 2 practices, Pediatrician, Lactation Consultants No remote Tele Monitoring Technology / Equipment
EMR: EPIC IV Pumps: Alaris Med dispensing: Omnicell Monitors: Phillips GE Corometrics Fetal Monitors; GE Panda Warmer Floating: as regionally required Floating & Regions
Will float per region needs – float to all listed facilities within scope of practice – decline if not agreeable Region 1 includes Cabarrus, University City, Stanly, Lake Norman, Central Division (CMC Main + Mercy + LCH) Mid-shift floating: traveler will be paid for time traveling between facilities (still on the clock) Scheduling
RTO: Up to 6 days off (excluding holidays); time added to end of contract if hours cannot be met Shift times: 7a-7p; 7p-7a Schedule cycle: every 6 weeks Other Notes
