Pharmacy Clerk (Cashier) – US-OR-Portland Department: Outpatient Pharmacy. Requisition ID: 2025-36195. Job type: AFSCME union represented. Position type: Regular Full-Time. Salary range: $18.30 - $24.33 per hour. Posting Schedule: Monday - Sunday (Variable). Posting Hours: 5:00am-10:00pm (Variable). Function/Duties of Position

Greets customers and assists in locating prescriptions for sale. Receives monies or processes credit cards or other payments; accurately totals purchases, collects the correct amount, and makes accurate change. Facilitates end-of-day reports and ensures appropriate monies are in the tills for the start of the next day. May be assigned routine tasks not involving the handling of medications. Answers the telephone and provides the public with general information and directions. Provides excellent customer service to customers. Routinely telephones customers to remind them to pick up prescriptions. Assists in daily inventory activities as assigned. Required Qualifications

Work experience or training that includes exchanging money for purchases and making change. Proven prior successful customer service experience. Job Related Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (Competencies)

Excellent interpersonal communication skills. Systematic problem-solving skills; ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Preferred Qualifications

Some college Experience in a community pharmacy. Completion of Bilingual Screening Proficiency exam Additional Details

The pharmacy cashier will experience competing demands on their time from pharmacy customers and will need to effectively multi-task and prioritize demands. The expectation is to provide customers with exceptional service at all times. Within the healthcare setting, there can be a significant lack of control over the workplace, with frequent interruptions that may lead to mental fatigue or stress. Benefits
