Job Description
This position requires a diverse set of clinical and administrative skills tailored to workplace health and safety. Core competencies include triage and clinical assessment to evaluate and prioritize employee injuries or illnesses. Immunization administration, audiometry, spirometry, and phlebotomy are essential for preventive care and health monitoring. Proficiency in CPR/AED and emergency response ensures readiness for workplace incidents. Nurses must be well-versed in OSHA compliance, ergonomics, and case management to support regulatory adherence and injury prevention. Strong communication, health education, and ability to manage electronic health records (EHR) are crucial for coordinating care and promoting wellness in the workforce.
Position Responsibilities
Assure compliance with regulatory requirements related to clinical operations
Secure and develop all records, equipment, and programs related to occupational health services
Provide or manage physical evaluation programs and services to meet regulatory requirements (e.g., OSHA, Department of Transportation, CDC)
Assess healthcare needs, then implement and manage healthcare programs to improve health and facilitate return to work
Maintain OSHA records/reports and worker medical files
Assist departments with identifying, evaluating, and implementing accommodations and return-to-work options for workers with restricted duty
Collaborate with Environmental Health and Safety, Operations, and Human Resources to develop operations, programs, and services
Contribute to the design of controls for injury prevention and health surveillance related to hazards
Identify primary, secondary, and tertiary prevention and health promotion strategies to optimize population health
Secure patient information and maintain patient confidentiality; establish and follow standards to maintain a safe work environment
Document patient data in electronic medical databases per standard protocols
Qualifications
Active and in good standing state nursing license as a registered nurse
Occupational Health and Case Management experience preferred
2+ years of experience in a healthcare field
Basic understanding of federal and state regulations applicable to occupational and environmental health and safety
Proficient in electronic medical record systems
BLS certified
Strong customer service skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
High level of professionalism
