Responsibilities Lead installation projects effectively and efficiently Allocate general and daily responsibilities to apprentices, craftsman, and other foreman Train and develop apprentices and craftsman Understanding design layouts and blueprints Keep the job site clean and well-organized Assist with coordination of materials, labor, and equipment Ensure attention to detail and follow safety standards Communicate with supervisor, estimator, PMs, and customers on the status of projects Financial awareness- seeking opportunities to optimize financial costs and investments while working on projects Monitor, and report daily work progress through written summaries and job site pictures Requirements Basic math and geometry Carbon arc experience Suitcase mig experience Arc welding experience Torch cutting experience Blueprint reading experience Job layout experience 5+ years’ experience in the Industrial setting Ability to work effectively with all personality types Ability to understand and carry out verbal and written instructions Self-directed and can work independently Valid Driver’s License Preferred Requirements Chauffeur’s license/ DOT Med card Equipment Experience Aerial – Lift Operation – Scissor Lift Aerial – Lift Operation – Boom Lift Forklift Operation – Material handling up and loading/unloading Basic operation of trucks and equipment Trailer loading and securing of construction material Telehandler Overhead crane certified & qualified (NCCER/NCCCO) Mobile crane certified & qualified (NCCER/NCCCO) Weld tractor Portable plasma machine Stud welder Line burner Ramset certified & qualified Skid steer material handling & loading Transit level Hand grinders Tool Experience Metal Working tools - hand saw, grinders, and other shop tools Rigging Requirements Signal or verbally direct workers engaged in hoisting and moving loads to ensure safety of workers and materials Utilize and understand the constraints of chains, synthetic, metal mesh, and wire rope slings (Preferred) Use & recognize rigging hardware including hooks, shackles, wire rope clips, clamps, eye bolts, softeners and tag lines Identifies common load configurations & positioning Calculate load weights Rigger 2 training – trains on above Lift Director Qualified (ALL PREFERRED) Identify the various roles and responsibilities associated with directing a lift, planning a lift, and executing a lift. Discuss proper LHE operating practices as they related to standard and critical load handling activities. Explain the requirements for signaling and communication during load handling activities. Review applicable manufacturer requirements, site requirements, Federal regulations, and applicable standards for rigging equipment. Discuss the procedures for procuring material handling equipment. Distinguish proper vs. improper crane and rigging practices. Select appropriate rigging gear based upon capacity, compatibility, compliance, and load control. Discuss items to be considered before, during, and after a load handling activity. Physical Requirements Must be able to ascend and descend ladders, scaffolds, stairs and work in confined spaces and in proximity to loud equipment. Must be able to position one-self to work in confined spaces such as trenches, pits, manholes, attics and tunnels. Must be able to lift and carry or otherwise move up to 50 pounds regularly/occasionally Must be able to respond quickly to auditory alarms, visual signals, or other effective means to communicate hazards Must be able to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces. Must be able to work in cold/hot environments. Must be able to traverse irregular and steep terrain.
