Mechanical Engineer 2
AvtechTyee is searching for a Mechanical Engineer 2 with project management experience and a roll‑up‑your‑sleeves attitude to help position our company for new growth and improved social responsibility.
In This Role, You Will Be Responsible For
Leading the planning, design, and development of products within the structures group
Performing finite element analysis using Hyperworks or similar tool
Creating engineering drawings using Solidworks
Reviewing Engineering Change Requests
Creating Engineering Change Orders
Writing test procedures and test reports using Microsoft Office tools
Supporting and leading productivity initiatives
Supporting cost proposals
Ongoing self‑development and personal growth as an employee
Other duties as assigned.
What You’ll Need To Succeed
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Aerospace, or Civil Engineering, MS/Ph.D. preferred.
2+ years of relevant on‑the‑job engineering experience, developing products through entire lifecycle highly preferred
Solid demonstrated knowledge of structural mechanics
Experience with structural analysis using FEA (Finite Element Analysis) required (Ansys or Hyperworks)
Experience with configuration and document control preferred
CAD modeling and drafting experience, Solidworks preferred
Project management (planning and execution), Earned Value Management experience preferred
Experience with ERP systems preferred
Experience with International Trade Compliance and markings preferred
Experience interfacing with customers and suppliers preferred

Knowledge and experience in a professional business environment
Excellent written and spoken communication skills
Outstanding interpersonal relationship skills
Willingness to be hands‑on, on the floor, interacting with the Production team
Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment
Proficient in Altair Hyperworks or similar FEA tool
Strong focus and attention to detail
Time management and organizational skills; ability to prioritize and multi‑task in a complex business environment
Excellent problem solving and decision‑making skills
Strong focus on customer service
Ability to quickly master new business knowledge and technical skills
Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Target salary range $90,000 - $120,000 per year, depending on education and experience.
