Medical Physicist (Texarkana, TX) – Siemens Healthineers. Works at the clinic site in collaboration with the Cancer Care Leadership to ensure high quality and safe interpretation, delivery, operation, and monitoring of radiation safety policies, procedures, standards, and equipment for Radiation Oncology Services. Responsible for ensuring delivery of high-quality radiation therapy while providing staff with the proper education and training and oversight to minimize radiation exposure. Supports and demonstrates Family-Centered Care principles when interacting with patients, families, and co-workers. Fosters a professional environment focused on safety, quality, and ongoing learning. Responsibilities

Calibrate dose meters (including dosimetric inter-comparisons for QA) and radiation equipment (accelerator monitor unit calibration); beam data acquisition for treatment planning. Prepare data for treatment planning systems; develop/improve dose measurement systems and protocols and software for dosimetry purposes (including spreadsheets and databases). Ensure compliance with Federal, State and organizational regulations for radiation safety. Participate in development of organizational Performance Improvement activities, policies and procedures, standards of practice to meet regulatory requirements. Assist in acceptance testing and commissioning of new machines and re-commissioning after major maintenance; perform individual treatment planning, dosimetry calculations, and treatment planning reviews (physics component). Provide physics consultation to radiation oncology personnel and radiation oncologists regarding patient care and treatment. Verify department treatment planning system and collaborate with information services for software management of the planning system. Assist in planning and shielding calculations for new radiation facilities and programs. Interpret and prepare documentation of regulatory changes for integration into departmental operations. Provide dosimetry checks following source changes; assist with selection and acquisition of sources for permanent implant techniques. Collaborate with department leadership in clinical education, training, and competency evaluations for medical physics, dosimetry, and therapy staff. Qualifications

Willing to relocate to Texarkana, TX or surrounding area. M.S. or PhD (preferred) in Medical Physics, or a closely related field, required. Minimum of 3+ years clinical experience in addition to a CAMPEP-accredited residency. ABR Part-I (and Part-II preferred) examinations. Experience with High Dose Rate (HDR) and Stereotactic Radiosurgery (SRS) programs preferred. Computer system administration experience with patient record and verify database applications desirable. Certification in Radiation Oncology Physics by ABR or equivalent; non-certified candidates must become eligible for board certification within 3 years of hire. Must apply for and maintain relevant State licensing/registration as required for working as a medical physicist at the clinical site and maintain in a timely manner. Who we are / How we work

The annual base pay for this position ranges from

Min $163,600

to

Max $245,400 , with starting pay influenced by geography, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications. The role may include commission eligibility per the company plan where applicable. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, 401(k), life and disability insurance, paid time off, and other programs subject to eligibility. Additional Information
