Job Description
The purpose of this position is to oversee and direct the performance of all field construction activities for assigned projects, typically with a value in excess of $500 Million, in conformance with plans, specifications, schedules, and cost estimates. The role requires authoritative knowledge of the assigned work, the ability to navigate complex situations, and to balance intuitive and analytical approaches to meet project objectives. This position directs construction staff and line supervision to meet or exceed project objectives, and may involve coordinating and directing construction craftsmen or managing contractors/subcontractors within the assigned area. This role may be referred to as Manager IV, Construction.
Responsibilities
Assure compliance with Fluor OSR, OSIP, and other business line requirements Execute field construction activities in conformance with drawings, specifications, schedules, cost estimates, procedures, quality requirements and safety standards Control project schedule and cost through efficient use of resources (workforce, materials, tools, equipment) Monitor productivity and cost and take action to maintain maximum labor productivity and cost-effectiveness Contribute to the development of a safety culture on the project Other duties as assigned Basic Job Requirements
Accredited four-year degree or global equivalent in an applicable field and twenty (20) years of related experience, or twenty-four (24) years if non-degreed; some locations may have different qualifications to comply with local requirements Ability to communicate effectively with management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and other stakeholders Job-related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines Attention to detail and time-conscious work habits Other Job Requirements
Direct and oversee staff assigned to the project, including managers and supervisors across safety, quality, construction, site services, engineering, contracts, and other functions Coordinate activities and communication within site/project areas and with other offices Support productive project execution through indirect activities and resource coordination Ensure work is within approved scope and compliant with pertinent requirements Serve as the single point of accountability to senior management, the client, and the community Preferred Qualifications
Proven ability to promote outstanding customer service and client relations Strong interpersonal, conflict resolution, communication, and leadership skills; ability to address senior management and project personnel Basic computer skills (word processing, email, spreadsheets, presentations) Administrative proficiency related to project and office operations Knowledge of project controls, human relations, industrial relations, and contract management relevant to the project Strong decision-making, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills with composure in critical situations We are an equal opportunity employer.
