The Lead VDC Engineer

manages the information that utilizes the building model. This position supports the regional VDC leadership and the VDC implementation efforts of single large projects or multiple smaller projects. The lead VDC engineer works with on-site VDC engineers, BIM engineers and operations to implement and manage the project’s VDC execution plan. Position Qualifications

A 4-year degree in civil or structural engineering, architecture, or construction management. Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience on large commercial construction projects. Self-motivated with the ability to work independently or within a team. Strong understanding of construction documents. Possess technical knowledge of commercial building design and documentation. Strong organizational skills and graphic communication skills. Computer software – Microsoft Office Suite (Excel templates) and Autodesk Suite with focus on 3D authoring tools and Navisworks; basic understanding of collaboration, 4D, 5D and 6D tools. Essential Duties

Support regional VDC training. Develop, implement and maintain project VDC execution plans and strategies with the project manager and VDC manager. Manage information dissemination and resolve issues in the model. Provide quality assurance on model reliability, structure and content. Assist in archiving models from preconstruction through post construction. Assist VDC manager in project implementation of new software, processes and technology. Assist in creating VDC coordination schedules and drive implementation with project superintendent support. Assist in aligning survey and 3D models with primary controls. Support the Estimating department’s use of models for quantity survey, visualization and other communication needs; support procurement through model development, proposals and interviews. Participate in reporting and project QC audits. Physical Work Classification & Demands

Light work; exerting up to 25 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently. Frequent walking, kneeling, sitting, crouching, reaching, stooping, typing, speaking with external stakeholders. Constant use of computer and office machinery. Occasional exposure to varying temperatures and environmental conditions. Benefits
