DoorDash is looking for an Engineering Manager with a strong platform mindset to lead the Payout & Banking Platform team. Our team’s mission is to build products that solve the financial needs of our Dashers, Merchants, Customers. At our core, we own Payouts — ensuring billions of dollars flow reliably and flexibly to Dashers and Merchants every year. Beyond traditional payouts, we’ve built next-generation financial products such as instant payments to a DoorDash-branded bank account and a Dasher-issued card to pay Merchants directly for goods. Beyond Payouts, our team provides banking to millions of Dashers and in the future, aims to extend this for Merchants and Customers. As we deepen these relationships, this team’s platforms will power the next wave of DoorDash Fintech innovation. About the Role
As the Engineering Manager for the Payout & Banking Platform, you will lead a talented and passionate engineering team building the systems at the heart of DoorDash’s financial ecosystem. In this role you will: Reimagine and rebuild our Payout and Banking Platforms to meet the demands of massive scale and reliability. Deliver highly resilient, scalable systems that enable billions in payments and unlock new Fintech products. Partner with Product, Data Science, and Strategy & Operations to define and execute a strategic roadmap that balances foundational platform investments with innovative product features. Inspire and grow your team, fostering technical excellence, customer focus, and a culture of continuous learning. Lead and grow a team of exceptional backend and client-side engineers delivering end-to-end engineering solutions. Be the technologist and system thinker who connects the dots between technology and the business and unlocks business opportunities through tech innovation. Collaborate with Product Managers, business leaders, and key stakeholders to determine the team's roadmap and vision, and manage execution against that roadmap. Provide architectural guidance and professional development for a team of 8+ Encourage innovation, teamwork, implementation of cutting-edge technologies, and outside-of-the-box thinking.
