SUBSTATION ENGINEER III or SR. (Hybrid or Remote from WI, IL, IA, MN) $10,000 Sign-On Bonus Hiring Salary for Level III: $114,900-172,400 (5+ Years of Experience) Hiring Salary for Level Sr.: $132,100-198,200 (10+ Years of Experience) The Substation Engineer is responsible for the engineering and design of the physical aspects of transmission and distribution substations. Provide continuing technical support to other departments internally to Dairyland and externally, as necessary. The Impact You'll Make In This Role: Responsible for the engineering and design of high voltage and medium voltage substation. Working knowledge of applicable industry and safety standards and codes. Responsible for the preparation and revisions of material and equipment specifications. Coordinate with other Dairyland technical and field personnel to assist in problem-solving, construction changes, and schedule changes. Responsible for creating or assisting project managers with creating project scopes, cost estimates, and schedules for capital and maintenance projects. Responsible for performing engineering calculations relating to the physical design of the substations. Perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Structural Engineering from an accredited university. Experience in the areas of substation physical design, substation protection and control design, or structural design. Knowledge of project estimating and engineering economics. Level III: (5+ Years of Experience) Level Sr.: (10+ Years of Experience) Skills: Requires a high degree of understanding for spatial concepts, mathematics, mechanics, and statistics. Must have good oral and written communication skills. Experience with computer-aided drafting software such as AutoCAD is preferred. Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Must be self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision. Knowledge of power systems is desirable. Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of programs.
