Lead I&E Engineer – Offshore Brownfield Engineering
Location:
Metairie, LA Wood is inviting expressions of interest for the Lead Electrical and Instrumentation Engineer to support expanding offshore brownfield engineering business. As a Lead Electrical Engineer, you will manage electrical and instrumentation engineering efforts for offshore brownfield projects, lead multidisciplinary teams across locations, and ensure high‑quality engineering solutions while efficiently managing workshare with remote offices. Lead and oversee all electrical and instrumentation engineering activities from concept through execution and closeout Manage multidisciplinary teams across global locations to deliver project scope efficiently Develop engineering deliverables including P&IDs, control system architectures, datasheets, and specifications in compliance with project and regulatory standards Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and designers Collaborate with project managers to define scopes, schedules, and budgets, and monitor progress Interface with clients, regulatory agencies, and contractors to resolve technical issues and obtain approvals Participate in safety reviews such as HAZOP and SIL assessments Conduct feasibility studies and cost‑benefit analyses to recommend optimal solutions Support procurement by reviewing vendor proposals and ensuring compliance with specifications Promote a culture of safety, quality, and environmental responsibility in all engineering activities Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, instrumentation engineering, or related field Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification is required. Candidates willing and qualified to test for the PE certification within 6 months of employment will be considered. Minimum of 10 years of experience in electrical and instrumentation engineering, preferably in offshore oil and gas projects Proven expertise in control system design and offshore production facility systems Strong leadership and communication skills with experience managing multidisciplinary teams Familiarity with industry standards and regulations including API, ISO, and OSHA Benefits
