Senior Architectural Project Manager - Federal role at Stantec. The Federal Buildings sector is seeking a Senior Project Manager to join our integrated buildings practice, managing projects ranging from $30 million to over $200 million in construction values. You will plan, execute, and deliver projects, manage clients, contracts, technical teams, project finances, and schedules, and support project pursuit efforts. You will lead the development of integrated design proposals (design-build and design-bid-build) and coordinate with clients and team members to deliver final deliverables.
Key Responsibilities
Manage complex tasks on medium to large-size projects ($30 Million to over $200 Million in construction values)
Deliver quality documents
Plan, organize, and direct the work throughout the project lifecycle to successfully deliver for the client
Keep the Principal in Charge informed of progress, issues, deadlines, and deliverables; understand decision-making levels for a Sr. Project Manager
Maintain client relationships
Lead the client and project team to ensure design meets budget, schedule, program, and design intent
Assist the Principal-in-Charge in negotiation and development of project agreements
Develop and manage project budget, schedule, and overall work plan to realize target financial performance
Oversee development of building documentation in modeling software (e.g., Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD)
Mentor Assistant Task Managers and motivate project teams
Ensure Project Management Framework tasks are timely completed and properly documented
Lead project coordination and owner/site meetings with internal and external stakeholders
Manage and track change orders, applications for payment, and other contractual modifications
Collaborate with Operations Manager on staffing needs
Direct client invoicing and manage collections
Capabilities and Credentials
Knowledge of managing all phases of AE projects including project delivery methods
Knowledge of DoD design standards such as UFCs
Knowledge of USACE and NAVFAC design and execution procedures
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Track record of delivering projects on time and within budget
Effectively manages multiple deadlines and priorities
Skilled in facilitating internal and external project team meetings and in monitoring and resolving issues
Team player with the client, project team, and partnering contractors
Effective negotiator and communicator; adaptive and strategic
Strong skills in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Projects; Revit experience preferred
Valid driver’s license with a good driving record
Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in Architecture. Must be a licensed architect (California licensure preferred or licensed in the home-office state). Minimum 20 years of experience in the architectural-engineering industry, with at least 7 years as a project manager in AE firms. DoD experience is preferred, especially NAVFAC and USACE.
