The Opportunity As an Electrical Commissioning Engineer, you will be the technical authority on‑site, ensuring that all electrical systems are installed, tested, and functioning to the highest standards of reliability and efficiency. Your expertise will be the final checkpoint before our clients’ vital operations go live.
This role offers an attractive
2‑weeks‑on, 1‑week‑off rotation schedule . You will spend two weeks fully immersed on a project site, followed by one week working remotely on documentation, reporting, and planning. This schedule provides an excellent work‑life balance, allowing for deep focus on‑site and dedicated rest and administrative time at home.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and execute the commissioning process for complex electrical systems, including MV/LV Switchgear & Circuit Breakers, UPS Systems (Static and Rotary), PDUs (Power Distribution Units), STS (Static Transfer Switches), ATS (Automatic Transfer Switches), Building Management System (BMS) and EPMS (Electrical Power Monitoring System) integration points.
Develop, review, and approve commissioning scripts, test plans, and procedures (FPT, IST).
Conduct pre‑commissioning and functional performance tests, meticulously documenting all results.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues during the commissioning phase, coordinating with contractors, vendors, and design engineers.
Perform arc flash studies and ensure all safety procedures (LOTO) are rigorously followed.
Lead commissioning meetings and provide clear, concise daily and weekly reports to project management.
During your remote week, you will be responsible for finalizing test reports, updating issue trackers, developing future test plans, and participating in virtual project meetings.
What You Bring (Qualifications & Experience)
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Proven experience in a hands‑on electrical commissioning role, specifically within data centers or other mission‑critical environments (e.g., pharmaceutical, power generation).
Deep understanding of NFPA 70E / OSHA standards and a unwavering commitment to on‑site safety.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics, SLDs, and construction drawings.
Highly Desirable:
Experience with commissioning software and EPMS systems (e.g., Schneider, Siemens, Eaton).
Professional Engineer (PE) license or NICET certification.
Formal commissioning certifications (e.g., CBCP, CBCM).
Willingness to travel to various project sites as required.
