Job Description and Duties: Effective July 1, 2025, PLP 2025 requirements may affect base salary and leave credits for certain employees. Salaries do not reflect these changes. Travel to other CDCR adult institutions may be required. This position is listed Until Filled with application review dates provided. Under the supervision of the Supervising Psychiatric Social Worker, the Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT) works in Medical Services, Integrated Care & Complex Patient Populations Division. The MFT diagnoses and treats mental and emotional disorders within the context of marriage, couples and family systems, in accordance with the applicable Business and Professions Code(s) and license. Incumbents shall refer incarcerated patients to other licensed health care professionals per standardized procedures. ISUDT: California Correctional Health Care Services is seeking California-licensed clinical social workers to join our Integrated Substance Use Disorder Treatment Program (ISUDT). This statewide program provides integrated care to patients with a history of substance use who require additional medical assistance. Responsibilities
Diagnose and treat mental and emotional disorders within marriage, couples, and family systems, following applicable laws and professional codes. Refer incarcerated patients to other licensed health care professionals as needed and per procedures. Travel to other CDCR adult institutions may be required. Collaborate with Medical Services, Integrated Care & Complex Patient Populations Division. Minimum Qualifications
Education:
Completion of a master's degree program from an accredited school for Marriage and Family Therapy, meeting the requirements of Business and Professional Code 4980.36. Licensure:
Possession of a valid license as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist issued by the California Board of Behavioral Science. Licensure by Exception:
Applicants who do not qualify for licensure may be admitted into examination and appointed, but must obtain a valid license within four years of appointment; or appointment may be limited to the period necessary to become eligible for licensure plus one year. Unlicensed applicants who qualify may be appointed for up to one year with possible extension as described by the Health and Safety Code. The extension process allows a maximum of two years under extenuating circumstances. Program Context
