$28.70 Position Overview

Verifies identity of the patient using appropriate identifiers and verifies physician order for procedure. Measures the patient's head and attaches electrodes in accordance with the 10/20 international electrode placement system. Tests functional integrity of electrodes and ensures acceptable electrode impedances. Obtains a complete and relevant patient history, including medications, and observes all patient safety measures. Ensures side-rails are upright and locked, wheels are locked, and patients are under direct staff supervision when required. Removes electrolyte/gel/collodian and cleans the patient's scalp safely at the end of testing. Logs and submits charges for all studies immediately upon completion in accordance with department policy. Uses infection control measures to cleanse electrodes and recording accessories. Prepares and provides an accurate technical report for the interpreting physician. Performs bio-calibration before and after each EEG study and records montages in accordance with policy. Performs activation procedures and special investigative montages as directed. Transfers all studies via the network to the reader station and verifies transfer. Logs and submits charges on all completed studies per policy and procedure. Measures scalp and electrode sites and applies recording electrodes to obtain VEP, BAER, SSEP and ATC with impedance under 3 K-Ohms. Obtains interpretable waveforms and, if needed, extends sampling to achieve desired outcomes. Superimposes waveforms, tags peaks, and ensures preregistration test screening procedures (e.g., visual acuity for VEP, auditory thresholds for BAEP, and a visible thumb/toe twitch for SSEPs). Ensures safety and cleanliness of recording equipment; logs and charges accordingly. Provides patient education on adhesive removal and skin care after testing. Obtains complete patient history including medications, seizure history, frequency, auras or prodromes, family history and event descriptions from patient, caregiver or physician. Ensures adequate disk space for recordings and proper software activation. Maintains data transfer in hour-long segments over 24-hour cycles and verifies archival processes. Views cascaded files, edits segments, and transfers data to reader station for physician review. Initiates activation procedures as directed by physician and review of orders. Removes electrolytes and adhesives post-recording and provides patient education on materials used for adhesive removal. Archives completed/interpreted LTM studies and maintains secure patient file storage; logs LTM admissions and related charges. Performs accurate, interpretable special EEG and Evoked Potential procedures in the OR or Video EEG settings, including infant/newborn studies as applicable, applying electrodes per the 10/20 system and generating necessary reports for physician interpretation. Performs Transcranial Doppler studies with documentation and完整 reports of findings. Performs routine nerve conduction studies and assists with EMG and report generation; logs procedures. Performs Autonomic Nervous System testing as required, coaching patient through testing to obtain accurate data. Ensures safe, accurate data collection and documentation throughout testing processes. Minimum Requirements

Education: High school diploma or GED. Associate's degree preferred. Experience: Previous documented experience in EEG and one of the following neurodiagnostic specialties (EP, NCV, CNIM, LTM, or other appropriate specialty). Other Credentials: AHA BLS - Healthcare Provider Knowledge and Skills: Basic computer skills. Usual Work Day: 8 Hours Physical Demands and Work Environment
