The Laboratory Technician I has some knowledge of commonly used microbiological concepts, practices and procedures. Has working knowledge of formulations for various media used in the laboratories’ techniques. This position is out of our Cranston, RI laboratory. Schedule is 9/9:30am-6pm Saturday, Sunday and 3 weekdays. (flexible on what 3 days Mon-Fri). Saturday and Sunday are a MUST Compensation is $19-20/hour (DOE) plus full benefits Essential Job Functions

Responsible for receipt of and proper logging in of all samples received into the laboratory Responsible for ensuring the correct analysis is performed on all samples received into the laboratory Ensures that proper Quality Control/Quality Assurance tests are performed on all analyses for the day Correctly utilizes all QC/QA documentation/logbooks Assists MLT III to ensure that the QA/QC task schedule is completed as necessary Input and review data entry from the bench sheets to the Laboratory Information Management System (currently Element) Interface with clients Work with MLT III and LD to order supplies necessary for the day to day running of the laboratory Responsible for running routine and non-routine, specialized microbiological analyses Perform field work as necessary Prepare media necessary for various analyses in the laboratory Work evenings, weekends, holidays as needed on a rotating basis Note: This text treats strong formatting as bold; keep content as written. Requirements

An Associate’s degree in a related field 2 years’ experience in a microbiology laboratory performing various environmental analyses Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship Professional working proficiency in English is a requirement, including the ability to read, write and speak in English. Be a person of good moral character Strong interpersonal skills Some computer proficiency Must have a valid US drivers license without recent incident. Must be able to perform light lifting and light housekeeping duties. Also must be able to tolerate unpleasant odors Perform other duties as assigned Please note - Eurofins Environment Testing (USA) provides a compensation range for informational purposes, the actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience and skill set, base salary of internal peers, business sector, and geographic location.
