The Radiology Technologist will operate radiographic equipment to produce radiographs of the body for diagnostic purposes, as directed by the ER Physician following Radiologist protocols. The technologist will be proficient in patient positioning and examination table adjustments to obtain optimal views. They will practice radiation safety techniques, including beam restriction, patient shielding, and knowledge of exposure factors to maximize protection for patients and staff. Additionally, the technologist will operate CT scan equipment to produce diagnostic CT images, administer contrast (IV and oral) with proper consent, and manage potential reactions. Accurate documentation and patient safety are top priorities. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Maintain awareness of departmental and operational policies of NEC. Assist in equipment maintenance, including cleaning and QA procedures. Explain procedures and risks to patients. Prepare patients for examinations, including contrast administration and IV placements. Complete all necessary forms related to exams, such as contrast and pregnancy forms. Follow safety precautions to minimize radiation exposure. Stay current with diagnostic radiology and CT procedures. Understand anatomy and physiology relevant to radiology. Operate and troubleshoot radiology and CT equipment. Use proper body mechanics when moving patients and equipment. Apply radiology safety principles during procedures. Seek guidance when limitations are encountered. Communicate effectively about departmental concerns. Transport patients safely to and from care units. Qualifications Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program. Minimum of 1 year of radiologic/imaging and CT experience. Skills and Abilities Ability to read and comprehend instructions and communicate effectively. Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Ability to interpret data and create reports. Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions and solve problems. Certifications and Licenses Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Current State licensure. Current BCLS certification.
