Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT) – Radiography
Join Quinte Health where cutting‑edge technology meets compassionate care. As a Diagnostic Imaging and Radiology unit member, you will image patients across all four sites, supporting inpatient, outpatient, emergency, OR, fracture clinic, and endoscopy services.
Responsibilities
Perform general and special radiography procedures in accordance with the Standards of Practice.
Execute quality‑assurance procedures set by department standards.
Ensure adequate supply levels for daily operations.
Archive and retrieve data to/from PACS.
Report equipment deficiencies to the Charge Technologist or Manager.
Instruct and evaluate students during clinical rotations.
Assist in orientation and training of new technologists.
Demonstrate courteous behavior and maintain professional communication with all staff and patients.
Participate in continuing education to promote professional growth.
Maintain general knowledge of Diagnostic Imaging policies and procedures.
Perform any other duties as assigned.
Assist with CT duties as needed.
Qualifications & Requirements
Graduate of an accredited Medical Imaging – Radiography program.
OAMRS/CAMRT registration preferred; valid liability insurance as defined by the CMRITO.
Strong initiative, organizational, and decision‑making skills.
Excellent computer and communication skills.
Ability to cope with a physically demanding workload.
Availability to work all shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends, and statutory holidays.
Physical Demands Analysis Strength
Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling.
Mobility
Frequent standing and walking on hard surfaces.
Occasional crouching/squatting.
Frequent bending, stooping, twisting, turning, and reaching.
Dexterity
Frequent handling of objects, gripping, and fine finger movement.
