Continue with Google Job Description Summary As a Lead Engineer - Structural Mechanics/Dynamics, you will perform research and development in structural mechanics, structural dynamics, and related areas to develop innovative mechanical design solutions for aerospace applications. You will contribute to R&D programs aligned with GE Aerospace and U.S. government agencies such as the Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, and the Department of Energy, solving complex challenges. The technologies developed will transition into GE products, supporting the industry through a historic recovery and shaping the future of flight. Our mission is to invent the future of flight, ensure safety, and serve our communities. Roles and Responsibilities: Design, analyze, and validate mechanical components and systems using various materials. Define requirements and perform analyses with FEA tools to predict structural responses. Participate in experimental validation of analytical results. Collaborate with support functions and external suppliers to meet project goals. Prepare and present technical reviews, reports, and publications. Provide technical expertise to resolve challenges. Develop project proposals and initiatives. Foster a multidisciplinary, inclusive team environment. Qualifications: Doctorate in Mechanical, Aerospace Engineering, or related with 3+ years of industry experience, or Master’s with 6+ years. Strong skills in solid mechanics and finite element methods. Proficiency with Ansys and advanced analysis tools. Analytical, innovative, and proactive mindset. Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and communicate effectively. Willing to work in Niskayuna, NY, and authorized to work in the U.S. Preferred Skills: Experience with structural optimization, impact simulations, composites, additive manufacturing, and project leadership. The salary range is $90,000 - $175,000 annually, plus discretionary bonuses. This posting closes on July 1, 2025.
