The Construction Senior Manager provides project leadership for large-scale projects with emphasis on aerial and underground telecommunication construction throughout the US. This role is accountable for all aspects of a project’s success from planning through execution and completion, ensuring the project meets design, budget, scope, and schedule while exceeding customer expectations. The Senior Manager plans and coordinates labor/crews, collaborates with upper management on planning, monitoring, and execution, and ensures safety, quality, and customer experience in accordance with project plans, efficiency, and cost management. Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Manage deployment, execution, and closeout of telecommunication fiber infrastructure projects in rural, residential, and metropolitan areas Oversee construction teams, coordinate daily workflows, and ensure quality metrics and adherence to processes and contractual obligations Lead in-house employees and subcontractors with clear expectations and goals Manage project budget, milestones, timelines, SOW, innovation, communication, resources, risks, customer satisfaction, vehicle maintenance, and project life cycle with focus on profit, loss, and deadlines Forecast future production, costs, timelines, and potential obstacles using project metrics Identify and develop cost-saving measures that increase profitability without compromising standards Produce regular project metrics reports to Director of Operations, COO, and Executive Team with solutions-oriented insights Track and review in-house and subcontractor daily production, manage progressive project documentation Maintain high-level client relationships and ensure positive communication Ensure compliance with contract scope, change orders, and material procurement needs Review project plans with Project and Engineering Managers Apply safety and security knowledge to protect clients, data, property, and institutions Maintain professional relationships with customers, city officials, and utility representatives Oversee onboarding of new hires, performance evaluations, and coaching to deliver projects to standards Support a positive culture aligned with core values Ensure facility, vehicle, and equipment maintenance and cleanliness; report issues as needed Resolve customer concerns and complaints as needed Other duties as assigned Required Skills/Abilities
Minimum 5 years in telecommunications with outside plant construction, fiber optics, and project management At least 3 years of large-scale project management with track record in construction management and profitability High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor’s degree in construction management, architecture, engineering, or related field preferred Experience in aerial, underground, splicing practices; knowledge of fiber optic network infrastructure and construction Public right of way and ISP/OSP deployments knowledge including MOT Customer engagement skills; ability to listen and propose solutions Experience in scheduling, cost engineering, budgeting, forecasting, procurement, and subcontractor negotiation Management experience with in-house crews and subcontractors Understanding of drawings, routes, scopes of work, QA/QC, and contract compliance Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, DWG, and project management tools; strong network/electronics knowledge; able to work on a tablet Excellent verbal and written communication Analytical, problem-solving, and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment Ability to explain technical concepts to diverse audiences Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to projects Safety-first attitude and adherence to safety procedures Background check required; safety-sensitive position with CDS and Alcohol testing Ability to work after hours, some weekends, and evenings; travel as needed Physical Requirements
Prolonged periods of sitting, standing, and operating technical equipment Ability to drive long distances Work in non-climate-controlled environments and inclement weather Lift and move up to 75 lbs; wear required PPE Seniority level
