What You'll Be Doing
The Structures Division in Houston provides structural engineering services for new design, repair and rehabilitation of constructed works, and investigation and performance evaluation of structures. As an entry-level hire, you will assist with new design, evaluation, investigation, and design of repairs for existing buildings and other structures, including waterfront facilities such as marine terminals, wharves, piers, bulkheads, and other infrastructure. Essential duties include working with senior staff to perform structural analysis and design tasks in steel, concrete, masonry and wood; conducting on-site investigations to document conditions and repair methodologies; supporting construction administration; and preparing drawings and calculations. A strong technical education, professional demeanor, and desire to learn are essential to this position. What You'll Need
MS in Civil or Structural Engineering. Excellent written, oral, and verbal communication skills. Spanish speaking is a plus. FE/EIT certification, preferred. Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical and judgment capabilities. Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team. Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines. Familiarity with computer analysis software preferred (e.g., ETABS, SAP, RISA, RAM, SAFE, etc.). Valid driver’s license and acceptable Motor Vehicle Report. Ability to travel abroad for short periods. Enthusiasm and passion for continued learning; Teachable mindset. Clear communication with supervisors, team members, and external clients. Problem-solving ability to apply data, logic, and judgment. Accountability and willingness to take initiative and work as part of a team. Teamwork and collaboration toward shared goals. The base salary range is a good faith estimate and will be based on experience, qualifications, and location. The total compensation package includes base salary, potential overtime pay, an annual discretionary bonus, paid time off, and health and wellness benefits, with company contributions to medical insurance and retirement plans.
